Barry Cowsill, singer (The Cowsills), drowned in floods caused by Hurricane Katrina, 51. Hurricane Katrina struck New Orleans on 29 August. Cowsill survived the storm and was alive for a few days afterward, but he subsequently drowned. His body was recovered on 28 December.
Bob Denver, actor (Gilligan on "Gilligan's Island"), of cancer, 70.
